Extracurriculars

The Children's House and Compass Junior High offer extracurricular opportunities for 2nd through 8th year students.

Athletics Purpose Statement
Organized team sports provide an opportunity for student-athletes to compete, play, and learn every time they come to practice and play in a game. Aspects of health and character are developed around competition including teamwork, individual goals, cooperation, how to win and lose, confidence, humility, and good sportsmanship. Our athletics program fosters an environment that supports our children in becoming the best versions of themselves.

Comets (2nd-5th grades)
Our elementary teams are known as the Children’s House Comets! Comets athletics include Cross Country, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Co-ed Volleyball, and Co-ed Track.

Navigators (6th-8th grades)
Our middle school teams are known as the Compass Navigators and are joined by teammates from Pathfinder and Greenspire schools! More offerings are available through co-ops with West and East middle school. Navigator athletics include Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Football (co-op), Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, and Co-ed Track (co-op).

Clubs
Our clubs are driven by student interest and parent support. Students can seamlessly enjoy and advance their skills in robotics, reading, D&D, or start their own club! Many of our clubs are held after school, but we also form teams to participate in outside organizations such as Battle of the Books. 6th-year students participate in the Montessori Model United Nations at travel to New York City as a part of their curriculum.
